Sanitary napkins are made from clean fibers which are highly absorbent and do not yield odors whether wet or dry. Teenagers and adult women all use sanitary napkins during their menstrual period for gynecological hygiene.
 
The demand for sanitary napkins are quickly escalating in China. Sanitary Napkin inspection and quality control tests ensure that the product is within the International standards and guarantee the consumers that the products they are purchasing are safe to use. These inspection test must be performed throughout the following stages of manufacturing.

Key Sanitary Napkin Inspection and Quality Control Tests
 

  • Resistance to Mechanical Penetration
    The Standard test method for resistance to mechanical penetration of sanitary napkins is used to determine the measurement of resistance to mechanical penetration of sanitary napkins.  This is also known is also known as the Ball burst procedure.

  • Aerobic Biodegradation Test
    The Standard Test Method for Determining Aerobic Biodegradation in Soil of
    Sanitary Napkins after Composting test is used to determine the degree and rate of biodegradation of sanitary napkin materials in contact with soil, or a mixture of soil and mature compost.

  • Water Retention Test
    The measurement of water retention is performed using the standard ASTM water retention test. A sample sanitary napkin is inspected by  immersing in distilled water at room temperature for 5 minutes to completely wet it out. The water logged sanitary napkin is then was weighed, dried and reweighed. Water retention is calculated as a percentage of dry mass.

  • Flexibility Test
    Flexibility of the sanitary napkin inspection test is used to ensure that the sanitary napkins conform to the International flexibility specifications as well as the manufacturing requirements. This test is performed using the standard ASTM circular bend procedure.
