Home décor are one of the most purchased items all over the world. Almost every household in the world has their own theme composed of various home décor. There are different home décor products inspection processes involved during production. According to the ISO 2859 standard for consumer items, proper measuring, examining and testing are required before it can be distributed to the end-consumers.

PRE-PRODUCTION INSPECTION
The purpose of this inspection is to verify that all the resources to be used during production are provided. This inspection process covers work areas, facilities and personnel management. The main purpose for pre-production inspection is to verify the materials and types of home décor products to be produced. Here are some of the home décor products found in production:

VISUAL INSPECTION

The purpose of the visual inspection is to double check if each product that came out of production is free from defects, damages, cracks (for frames), wood chipping, metal dents, and other known damage factor during production to ensure that each home décor product produced passes quality control standards.

ASSEMBLY INSPECTION

The purpose of this inspection is to verify that each piece of the home décor product is free from damages and is complete with all the needed components to operate as expected to ensure that each component of the home décor product is working as expected and is ready for distribution.

MEASUREMENT AND WEIGHT INSPECTION

The purpose of this inspection is to verify that each similar home décor product have the same dimensions and weight to ensure that every item being produced is uniform to adhere to the quality guidelines set for home décor products.

MECHANICAL INSPECTION

Accuracy Test – Inspect and identify if each home décor product being tested during the procedure have the same product specifications in terms of dimensions, weight, etc… to ensure that all products are as accurate as labeled.
Assembly Check – Inspect and identify if each home décor product being tested has the same number of components to ensure that all the products being produced are identical to its similar product information.
Handle Strength Test – Inspect and verify if each home décor product being tested remains intact after the initial handle strength test to ensure that each product shipped out have the appropriate shock resistant surfacing for production.

PRE-SHIPMENT INSPECTION

The purpose of this inspection is to verify that each home décor product has passed the different UL, MTL and CSA standards after the different series of testing and inspection processes to ensure that the final product is free from any damages or defects. Each product that passes the pre-shipment inspection will be ready for shipping and distribution. Here are some of the final tests to be conducted during the inspection process:

Metal Detection Test – This test is to ensure that no metal pieces will be included on the final product to ensure that each item is accurate right from the box.
Transportation Drop Test- The purpose of this test is to verify that no home décor product will be damaged during the initial shipping process to ensure that each item will be ready for display with minimal to no damage as possible.
Quantity Checking – This test is to ensure that each home décor item being packaged has no additional components or tools included with it to make sure that each product has been checked thoroughly to adhere to the quality guidelines.
Bar Code Checking – Inspect and identify if each home décor product has its corresponding bar code packaging to ensure that each item is accurate
