The Manufacturing Process of A Quartz Watch

The manufacturing process of a quartz watch consists of a careful assembly process performed by trained individuals. The most important part of the manufacturing process is the manufacturing of the watch components.

The main power of a quartz watch is a small synthetic quartz sliver placed in the center of the watch. Synthetic quartz is cut by quartz manufacturer with a tool called the diamond blade saw to the specification's according to design of the watch manufacturer. The Quartz is then shipped out to the watch manufacturer. The microchips are a very complex and extensive manufacturing process which are performed outside the watch manufacturer. Microchips are another components shipped in to assist in manufacturing the quartz digital watch.

The quartz will be placed inside a small capsule with several wires attached to it and then soldered into a small circuit board. The leads from the quartz capsule will be attached to a small microchip attached to the circuit board. Crystal and additional microchips are then soldered into the circuit board which will be placed inside the back of the quartz watch.

The time mechanism used will then be soldered to the circuit board. This small mechanism also consists of two small pins The first pin is used to reset the minutes and hours. The second pin is used to confirm and save the set time. A very tiny circular battery watch battery will be installed to generate electricity for the watch components such as LED displays.

During the final stage of the manufacturing process, a casing is placed over top of the watch to protect the battery and all the internal components. A wristband is then attached to the watch to complete the process. Quartz watch inspection tests must be performed to ensure the watch conforms to International Standards.
