Window dressing is a very popular term among commercial and retail establishments wherein they use this term to connote the trimming and goods displayed in the store front window. For households, it simply means the articles, materials and items used to beautify or accessorize a window such as draperies, blinds and curtains that are meant to keep the light out and for privacy purposes. There are several types of window dressings which include:

  • Café Window Dressings- are often used in kitchens.
  • Panel Window Dressings– are used in windows that are not often opened.
  • Sheer Window Dressings- are see-through curtains that provide an airy feel to any room.
  • French Pleat Window Dressings- are curtains that are more formal than the other types of curtain and can often be found in the living or dining room area.
  • Tap Top Window Dressings - are used anywhere at home. This type of curtain has a very casual feel and look.
